Why we started Great North
Every Great North Painting crew lead has 15+ years of professional painting experience. We started the company in 2026 to paint GTA homes the way we'd paint our own.
That means proper prep, premium paint named in writing, and a price range you can see before we ever knock on your door.
We're based in North York and paint homes, condos and businesses across the GTA.

A crew lead looks it over
Your photos and sizes checked, along with every surface and its repairs. We come to see the job when photos aren't enough, when it's a big one, or once you're going ahead.
Written, itemized quote
Delivered within 24 hours of seeing the job, priced on your sizes: the scope, the prep, the paint named by brand and line, the price plus HST, the dates, and any surface the warranty can't cover.
Colours and scheduling
Book your start date with a 20% deposit. Projects over $2,500 include a free 30-minute colour consultation.
Prep and protection
Sizes checked against your quote, furniture moved and covered, floors protected, then every surface cleaned, patched, sanded and primed where it needs it.
Two coats, done properly
The paint named in your quote, cut in and rolled or sprayed as specified, with the work area cleaned up at the end of every day.
Walkthrough and warranty
The rest is due an hour before we finish. We walk the finished job with you, fix any touch-ups on the spot, and hand over your written 5-year interior or 3-year exterior workmanship warranty.

A new company cannot point to decades of its own history, so we put what matters in writing instead:
- The price, before you call. Our ranges are published, with every mandatory fee included.
- The quote. Written and itemized, within 24 hours of seeing the job, naming the paint by brand and line, and priced on the size of the job.
- The warranty. A written workmanship warranty of 5-year on interiors, 3-year on exteriors and 2-year on cabinet finishes, on every surface your quote accepts.

A crew lead looks over your photos and sizes, checks for repairs, and talks through colours and timing with you, and comes out to see the job when it needs it. At the end, the crew walks the finished job with you and fixes any touch-ups on the spot.
What work don't we take on?
Anything that is not painting. We paint homes, condos and businesses, and we leave other trades to the people who do them every day.

Which paint do you use?
Your quote names the paint for each surface by brand and product line, so you know exactly what goes on before you book. Two coats of it go on every painted surface.
Do you stain decks and fences?
No. Cedar deck and fence staining is a wood-care trade, so we leave it to specialists. We paint homes, condos and businesses, inside and out.
Which areas do you serve?
Toronto and the GTA, from Oakville and Burlington in the west to Oshawa in the east, and north to Newmarket and King City. We're based in North York, and the Locations page lists every city and district.
